Story of the week

Following on from the children showing interest in the dark and building nests in the outdoor area this weeks story of the week is Owl Babies.

We will be thinking about some of the vocabulary in the book - we will talk about the meaning of the words and try to find different contexts in which the word could be used.

The words we have chosen to focus upon are:

trunk

hunting

gone

brave

swooping

To support your child in their learning you could read Owl babies or watch the youtube video and talk to your child about our chosen words.  They can then share their thoughts with the other children in group time.

Maths

In Maths this week we are going to be singing Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.

This is to model to the children touching one thing at a time.

It is important for the children to have that experience as we move towards them counting objects with 1:1 correspondence.
