Oak

Welcome to the class page for

CLASS 4 OAK

Our theme for this term is

AFRICA

We shall be learning all about Africa. We are excited about showing you some of our research, artwork and photographs so please check back later for more!

HOMEWORK

One piece of Maths and one piece of English homework will be sent out each Friday, along with the spellings the children will be expected to learn and practise over the week. Homework is due in the following Wednesday.

We also ask that children read at least 3 times each week and that this is recorded in their Reading records, which has been signed by an adult. Reading records will be checked each Friday.

PE

The PE days for 4 Oak this term are Wednesday and Friday. However, we ask that children bring in their full PE kit on a Monday and take it home for washing on the Friday. Thank you.

Congratulations this week go to Maya for her hardworking attitude and the kindness she shows to others. Well done Maya and keep it up!

School council representative

The voting for School Council member for Class 4 Oak was tense, with all nominees completing a manifesto, giving reasons why they should be chosen to represent our class in School Council meetings.

It was a tough decision but after all the votes were counted, Class 4 Oak decided on a worthy School Council representative....

Joshua

Congratulations Joshua!

This week a double award for Maya and Balroop. These girls were chosen to receive a celebration certificate for their outstanding teaching of R.E.. They confidently taught the whole class (including Mr. Cowell), about Sikhism. Well done girls!

Coding in ICT

In ICT we have been working on writing our own lines of computer code to solve problems using the Code.org website. Solving problems using code is called debugging. Here are a few pictures of us hard at work:

Celebration Assembly 13/10/16

This week Chloe was the worthy winner of a celebration certificate for her outstanding gymnastic skills in P.E. She supported her partner, had fluency and strong body positions. An excellent example to others, Chloe. Well done!

Lincolnshire Life Museum Trip

This week we enjoyed a wonderful visit to the Lincolnshire Life Museum in Lincoln. We split into groups and liked looking at all of the artefacts linked to our theme of World War I. The best artefact of all had to be the beautiful 'Daphne' - an original WWI Mark IV tank.

On Friday 11th November, Class 4 Oak led our school's remembrance assembly. Every child spoke clearly and was able to recite the poem 'In Flanders Fields' beautifully. Congratulations to every child involved for such a poignant and important assembly. Well done!
