This week we will be using Jack and the Beanstalk to focus our learning. 

 

In phonics, we will recap the digraph ck as we are finding that when children encounter this one in words they try to say c-k (two separate sounds) rather than just the one. We will also be recapping b and d and tackling longer two syllable words. We will also continue to use letters we already know to blend to read and segment to spell simple words and sentences.  

 

In maths, we will focus on the beginnings of number bonds to ten - seeing that we can arrange sets of ten objects in different ways, but they always total ten. For example, we will be moving ten "magic beans" between two sides of a "garden" - 2 and 8 make 10, but so does 6 and 4, 3 and 7...
