This week we are going to introduce a story of the week.
This week we are going to be reading the story Funny Bones by Janet and Allan Ahlberg.
When we read the book we are going to be thinking about words which we are not really sure about - maybe we might not have heard these words before or don't know what they mean. Look out for the words being sent out on the app or Tapestry so you can talk about them at home as well!
We are going to be making skeleton collages in the workshop area and drawing using chalk in the writing area.
Number Song of the week
This week our song is going to be 1 Skeleton went out to play.
We are going to sing this to the tune of 5 Little Ducks
1 skeleton went out to play
in a dark dark house one day,
he had such enormous fun
that he called for another skeleton to come....
We will be continuing to encourage children to represent numbers on their fingers with a focus on showing the correct amount.
We will also be continuing to investigate the idea that anything can be counted - not just objects but jumps, claps or taps on heads for example.
It's all about 4 - concept of 4
This week we are going to be finding out about the number 4. We will be looking at the numeral, looking at ways of representing '4' - on our fingers, on paper or with objects.
We will be looking for things that are in 4's. We might find 4 leaves, 4 wheels or 4 friends - if we look very hard we might see the numeral '4' around the Nursery.
We would love to see any photographs of your child on a '4' hunt at home!
Have a look at the link below - it's all about the number 4!
