Welcome to 4 Oak!

This term we will be learning about 'Super South America'. In this topic, the children will use maps and atlases to learn about key features of environmental regions, key physical and human characteristics, countries and major cities within the continent of South America.

We have already started to fill up our display board with super writing about Christ the Redeemer.

This term, our PE lesson is on a Monday afternoon. Every Monday, the children are allowed to arrive at school in their outdoor PE kit, which they will remain in for the full day.

Swimming begins in October and will take place twice a week on the following days:

Wednesday 7th October

Friday 9th October

Wednesday 14th October

Friday 16th October

Wednesday 21st October

Friday 23rd October

Wednesday 4th November

Friday 6th November

For the first half term, homework will be daily Book Club tasks, weekly times table practice and weekly spellings.

Every Thursday, we will have a spelling test and every Friday we will have a times table test.

We encourage children to access a range of websites to support their learning, including Times Tables Rock Stars (times tables practice), Bug Club (reading), Spelling Shed (spelling) and Letter-join (handwriting).

Here are the website addresses:

This is the text we will be reading in English. It is a children's picture book about rainforest conservation. It is exceptionally colourful, bright and full of life. We can't wait to start it next week!
We've had a great start to the term so let's keep working hard and enjoying being back at school.
