Our School Council

Our school council meet with Miss Howlett every half term to discuss issues about our everyday school life.

Each class from Year 2 to Year 6 has a representative and at our meetings we discuss any issues that our class have brought to our attention. As a team we work on ways of solving any problems and then feed these back to the Headteacher and Chair of Governors.

What have we been involved with this year:

  • Carried out a 'Feeling Safe' survey with our class and passed on our results. These formed part of the safeguarding report shared with governors at the Autumn term meeting.
  • Reviewed the Home School Agreement. A new Berkeley Primary School Home School Agreement was written and shared with staff, parents and children. Members of the School Council delivered an assembly to share it with the children.
  • Asked our class which after school clubs they would like. A top ten list was created from our individual class suggestions and shared with staff. Clubs that were offered during the spring term which we suggested: Games, Science and Computing (Digital Leads).

2nd November 2017

Our school council had a fantastic afternoon supporting the Scunthorpe Lions Club with the planting of bulbs in their Centenary Garden located in Kingsway Park. The children joined a group from St Augustine Webster's and worked tirelessly to plant hundreds of crocus and daffodil bulbs.

We can't wait to see them in full bloom next spring. A big thank you to the Lion's Club for inviting us to be a part of this event. What a great way to contribute to our local community. Well done everyone!
