Home Learning Week 4

This week we continue with The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar - Animated Film

In the internationally acclaimed The Very Hungry Caterpillar, a tiny caterpillar eats and eats...and eats his way through the week. Taken from The Very Hungry ...

In the story as you watch you will see lots of different colours.

I saw blue, green, purple, orange, pink and yellow.

What colours did you see?

Can you go on a colour hunt?  Maybe you could go on a hunt around your house, your garden, or even your local area if you go for a walk.  When I look around me now I see a green bush out in my garden, I can see an orange drink, I can see the blue on a Rice Krispie box and I can see some pink flowers in a vase.

What can you see?  Can you take some photographs of them and put them on Tapestry for me to see?

An important part of our physical development is building the strength and dexterity in our fingers and hands to be able to hold a pencil with the correct grip.

There are lots of different ways we build up this strength.

Here's one of them.

Using a box and clothes pegs one at a time pick up a peg and put it onto the side of the box.

You could use a timer to see how fast you can do it or how many you can put on in a certain time.  You could try and race your grown up or a brother or sister!

A bit of fun!

In Nursery we love to build dens!  I wonder if you could make an amazing den with your grown up! What will you need? How will you make it?  Can you put a picture of your den on Tapestry?
