This week we turn our attention to a story written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Lydia Monks. The title of the book is 'What the Ladybird Heard'
Pause the video at the very beginning and look at the front cover with your child. Can they tell you what animals they think are going to be in the story? Where do they think the story might take place? What do they think the ladybird might have heard!
Can you draw a picture of your favourite farm animal making sure you write your name on your picture so I know who drew it!
Maybe you could listen for the sounds in the name of the animal. Ask your grown up to write the word and have a go copying it.
Do you have any farmyard toys at home? Maybe you could set up a farmyard to play with making the different noise that animals make! If not, maybe you could use some building blocks to make a farmyard - use blocks and pretend they are farm animals.
Sing old Macdonald Had a Farm with your grown up - who can make the loudest animal sounds!!!
A Bit of Fun
Can you make an obstacle course in your garden or your living room and take part in it! What could you use to make it!
