We will use the story "Titch" this week to focus our learning around families and things that we can do.

In phonics, we will be using the letters s a t i p n and m. We are trying to get really quick at recognising these and saying the sounds that they make. We will also try to learn to remember two tricky words - the and I.

In maths, we will be counting irregular arrangements of objects and will also try to use the language of adding and taking away. We will base our work around the number rhyme 10 Fat Sausages Sizzling in a Pan.

We we are going to get baking in our new kitchen this week. It's very exciting! We will be chatting about "kitchen dangers" as we bake too - we wonder if the children will remember some of the discussion we had last week in circle time. We have worked out a rotation so that before half term, all children will have had a turn.  A third of each class will bake this week, another third will have a turn with our new ICT equipment and the final third will have some adult focus and support on scissor and art skills. By the time we get to the holiday, all children will have done all three activities.

We we really love our new unit and the children have settled in really well. They are trying really hard to keep everything neat and tidy. In circle time this week, we will link this to discussion of one of our golden rules - we look after property.
