Food chains/webs
As part of our Science topic 'Living things & their Habitats' we looked at food webs and food chains.
In the pictures below, you can see how the children have linked different animals from the same 'ecosystem' using bits of string. Where a food web differs from a food chain, the children could see that producers and some consumers are eaten by many different animals. From here they were able to answer questions such as 'what would happen if ..... was removed from the ecosystem?'. This helped them to recognise just how important it is to protect habitats and not to over farm certain foods.
