  • Long Rope Skipping - Wednesday 20th March

    Wed 20 Mar 2019
Some of the year 5 and year 6 classes took part in a long rope skipping challenge. Children were taught how to run into the rope whilst it was turning, do 3 consecutive jumps and to run out of the rope without it touching them. The aim was to see how many people could get through the rope in 7 minutes. The classes competed against each other and so far the winning class is 6Holly with a score of 53. We look forward to each class repeating the challenge and seeing if they can improve on their first score.
  • Skip to the beat - Wednesday 13th March

    Thu 14 Mar 2019
Pupils in year 3 and year 4 thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a skipping challenge with Miss Palin from the Get Ahead Partnership. Each child worked very hard to improve their skipping technique and finished by completing the skip to the beat challenge. This involved children trying to skip in time to the beat of various songs. Each lucky child received a skipping rope to keep forever! We look forward to hopefully seeing the children improve on their scores, when they redo the challenge in a few weeks time.

  • It's Catching - Monday 4th March

    Mon 04 Mar 2019

Well done to all the year 1 and year 2 children who took part in the It's Catching session today, led by the Get Ahead Partnership. Children worked hard to develop their throwing and catching skills within a Statues and Scarecrow game and concluded with seeing what level they could complete within the 24 stage challenge. The highest score achieved in year 1 was level 11 and the highest score in year 2 was level 14.

Each child was extremely excited to receive their very own tennis ball to keep forever and a booklet containing lots of game ideas. We ask you to encourage your child to practice their throwing and catching skills over the next couple of weeks, as we will be repeating the challenge, where hopefully we will see some fantastic improvements!
