  • Bug Club Relaunch

    Wed 26 May 2021

    Dear Parents and Carers,

During the Autumn Term 2019 we purchased a reading programme called Bug Club. Unfortunately, due to Covid and partial school closures, we have been unable to use this wonderful resource to its full potential. So, we are relaunching Bug Club along with some great rewards for children who are accessing and reading books on Book Club.

For more information, please take a look at the Bug Club Relaunch letter which is saved in the letters section on our school website.

  • Attendance during the summer term

Mon 24 May 2021 Anna Cvijetic

Last week we received an email from the government explaining their expectations for attendance during the summer term.  Please read below and we ask that you support us in this.

Summer term attendance expectations for school

School attendance continues to be mandatory for all pupils and the usual rules on school attendance apply. This includes parents’ duty to ensure their child regularly attends school, and schools’ and local authorities’ ability to issue sanctions, including fixed penalty notices, for poor attendance.

We expect schools and local authorities to continue to communicate clear expectations around attendance to families, identify pupils at risk of disengagement and develop plans to re-engage them.

As restrictions begin to lift, we know some families may be looking to take holidays during term time. As usual, parents should plan their holidays around school breaks and avoid seeking permission to take their children out of school on holiday.

  • Infant children must be dropped off and collected by an adult

Mon 24 May 2021 Anna Cvijetic

    Dear Parents and Carers,

This is a reminder that children in the infants must be dropped off at their allocated school classroom collection point and collected from their classroom point by an adult (16 years old and over).

Parents / carers make the decision if they feel their child in the juniors is responsible and safe enough to come to school and leave on their own.  They should consider things like the length of journey home, road conditions, child’s self-care, confidence and awareness.  Where school has a concern about a junior child coming or walking home by themselves this will be discussed with the parent.

No child must be allowed out of the school during working hours unless there is a request from the parent or carer.  The Headteacher must be notified and any letter making such a request should be seen and noted by the administrative staff.  Children of primary age leaving during school hours must be collected.  The adult must complete the signing out book in the reception area and must be 16 years of age or over.

    Best wishes

    Anna Cvijetic
