• Harvest Festival

  We enjoyed our Harvest Festival this morning, led by our Year 5 children.  We learnt about the importance of Harvest, Harvest around the world and about the Trussell Trust, who we donate to. The children shared a couple of favourite Harvest songs, which the younger children in the audience really enjoyed and the children did a performance of the poem 'Harvest Moon' - wonderful to listen to.

   

  Many thanks to all those who have donated food, the Trussell Trust will collect this and distribute to families in our community. 

   

  It was really great to see so many parents and wider family supporting their children and the school.   

  

• Online Book Club Autumn 2022

  Dear Parents and Carers,

   

  We are writing to inform you that our new Online Book Club is up and running! Scholastic are now making it easier for you to browse and buy the books you love by creating an online Book Club for our school. There are hundreds of fantastic children’s books to choose from and with Christmas creeping up on us, these would make fantastic gifts. Your child will be bringing home a leaflet of some of the books that are available to buy.

   

  For every £1 you spend, our school will earn 20p in Scholastic Rewards.

  Please place your order online by Friday 18^th November 2022.  If you would like free delivery on your book purchase, at the point of ordering please select to join our school group order. All orders will then be checked out on 18^th November and purchases will shortly be delivered to school for us to distribute to you.

• Harvest

  Dear Parents and Carers,

                                                                    

  During the last week before October Half Term, children will be celebrating Harvest in school and giving thanks for what we have.

   

  Like previous years, we will be collecting non-perishable foods (tins, packets, pasta, rice etc.) for the Scunthorpe Food Bank, who support families in our area. Your donations will be gratefully received.

   

  Please kindly send any donations to the school with your child between now and until Wednesday 19^th October.

• Parent's Evening

  Dear Parents and Carers,

   

  Parent and Teacher Consultations have been organised for Nursery, Reception and Year 1 to Year 6 on Wednesday 19^th October and Thursday 20^th October (3.30 – 6.30pm), apart from a few changes to the following classes:

  • Class 1 Oak (Mrs Elsagood) will be on Tuesday 18^th October and Wednesday 19^th October (3.30-6.30pm)
  • Nursery will be on Wednesday 19^th October only (3.30-6.30pm). Please note, the booking system will show 5-minute slots for appointments due to both Mrs Bennett and Mrs Waters covering these appointments.

   

  We will be using the online booking system again for booking appointments. You will shortly receive an email inviting you to book an appointment with your child’s class teacher. Once you have received the email, please select the date and time you wish to book for. Only available time slots will be displayed. Once you have selected your time and confirmed your booking, you will receive an on-screen reminder of the booking followed by an email confirmation.

   

  Please note, the system will only send an email to the person who is listed on our records as contact number one. Parents who have more than one child at our school, will receive a separate email for each child. If you have not received an email by Wednesday 5^th October, please contact the school office by phone (01724 867065) or email (admin.berkeleyprimary@northlincs.gov.uk) to ensure we have your current email address. The online booking system will close on Monday 17^th October at 3.00pm.

   

  Parent’s Evening is an opportunity for you to have a look at your child’s work and speak to your child’s class teacher about progress and targets.  I will also be available during the evening if you would like to speak to me.  We expect 100% attendance and need to see all parents.  There will be no after school  clubs on Wednesday 19^th and Thursday 20^th October.

   

  Meetings will be held in classrooms, there will be a waiting area in each school hall and you will be able to look at your child’s work.  Please could all visitors use the main entrance for the infants and juniors and come to the appropriate building for each appointment. Nursery and Reception meetings will be held in the infant building.

   

  We look forward to seeing you here at the school, having an opportunity to share some of the lovely work the children have been doing and discuss their progress and attitude to learning.

• Individual School Photographs- Tuesday 11th October

  Dear Parents and Carers,

   

  The school photographer will be visiting school on Tuesday 11^th October 2022 to take an individual school photograph of your child. Like previous times, once we receive the proofs, we will send these home for you to purchase if you wish.

   

  School Uniform will need to be worn by all children on this day. If this is normally your child’s PE day, please do not send them in their PE Kit. Children will still participate in a PE activity, but one which can be completed in their school uniform.
