  • Christmas 2020

    Thu 17 Dec 2020

The children have really enjoyed all of our Christmas Celebrations this year. The Christmas dinner was delicious like always and everyone looked like they were having great fun at their class parties.

Yesterday, the whole school watched the online pantomime-Cinderella! The children were very excited about this and by the sounds coming from the classrooms, they really enjoyed it! It was lovely to hear everyone joining in with this interactive Panto.

Father Christmas and the mischievous Angel also visited the classrooms to deliver presents to all the children. Please take a look at the pictures below of the Panto, Father Christmas and also Mr Fell looking very festive!

  • Wishing you all a happy holiday

Mon 14 Dec 2020 Anna Cvijetic

    Dear Parents and Carers,

On behalf of all the school staff and Governors, I would like to wish all our families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  We break up at the end of the day this Thursday 17th December 2020.  The children will return to school on Tuesday 5th January 2021.

I would like to thank you for your support and patience this term.  It has certainly been a strange one.  Like you, I am hoping that the news of the roll out of the vaccine will bring us more normality in the new year.  You have following the rules and helped us to keep everyone safe.  We’ll keep on with the mask wearing and routines for now, but hope we will be able to make some changes to ease these in the coming months and get back to some sort of normality.

I know a number of families and children have had to isolate or have had Covid-19, but we have been fortunate that there has been no inter-school transmission.  It seems at the moment that the measures we are taking in school is giving some protection.

The Government have made some changes in primary schools to testing in this academic year.  Year 2 children will be given teacher assessment levels based on the work they are doing, they will not take any tests.  The Year 4 multiplication tables check has been cancelled this year.  The Year 6 spelling, punctuation and grammar (SAT) test has also been cancelled and they will not get a science teacher assessment.  The Year 6 will still be doing the mathematics and reading (SAT) tests and will be given teacher assessments in reading, writing and mathematics.

I am so proud of how our children and staff have coped in the new situation, with changing routines and rules.  Once again they have shown their resilience and dedication to the school.  Because the children have all been so good I’ve heard that Father Christmas is planning to visit school this week, socially distancing of course.  Let’s hope he makes it in to Tier 3.

I hope you all have a lovely break and have chance to enjoy family time.

    Best wishes
