  • Reading Challenge/ Book Sessions during the Summer Holidays

    Thu 30 Jun 2022

    Summer Reading Challenge

The theme of this year's Summer Reading Challenge is 'Gadgeteers'. Click here for more information.

In North Lincolnshire, children can enrol at any of the libraries and the Challenge launched on Saturday (9th July) and will run until 10th September.

Click here for the link to the libraries page.

During this period, children just need to read six books and go in to the library when they have read them, to tell staff and receive incentives along the way. There is a certificate and medal at the end, too.

    Thank you

  • Staffing Updates

    Mon 13 Jun 2022

    Dear Parents and Carers,

I am writing to let you know about some staffing updates.

Alice Dowse – Reception Class Teacher

Many congratulations to Mr and Mrs Dowse who are expecting their first child in November.  Wonderful times ahead as they expand their family.

    Ryan Woods – Class Teacher

I am pleased to inform you that Ryan Woods will be staying with us for another year.  He will continue to support throughout school at the beginning of the term, and then will take over from Alice Dowse in Reception as she begins her maternity leave.  Mr Woods is an experienced Reception class teacher and knows our EYFS unit well.

    Iryna Fowles – Class Teacher

Iryna Fowles will be returning from her years leave in September 2022.  We are very much looking forward to her return.

    Sarah Pask – Teaching Assistant

Sarah will be retiring at the end of the term after nearly 20 years at Berkeley.  Sarah has supported our children’s learning and well-being so well over those years.  She been an incredible aid to many teachers and leaders over the year, helping us all do our best.  We will miss her kindness to the children, the help she readily gives us all and her grace around the school.   We wish her a long, happy and healthy retirement.

Jo Spencer – Class Teacher and Senior Leader

Jo Spencer will be leaving at the end of the term.   Jo has worked at Berkeley Juniors and then the Primary for over 10 years.  She is a superb leader and teacher with an excellent reputation.  She has worked relentlessly to move our school forward and has been instrumental in developments in English in particular.  She really makes a difference to our children.  She will be greatly missed by all and we wish Jo all the best in her future.

The Governors and I are currently recruiting a new full-time class teacher and teaching assistant.  We will let you know about the new appointments before we break up.

If you have any queries please get in touch.

    Best wishes

  • Reading Stars

Tue 07 Jun 2022 Anna Cvijetic

Well done to the children who have been taking part in the Reading Stars project with Mr Spencer.  They gave a great performance yesterday and parents really enjoyed hearing Sarah Tipler, LA reading advocate, talking about the importance of reading for all our children's futures.
