Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
After today, school will be closed for the Easter Holidays.
School will re-open for children on Tuesday 20th April 2021.
We hope you all have a lovely Easter break!
Schools have been asked to be part of the Covid-19 track and trace system after we break up for the Easter holidays on Wednesday 31st March 2021 until midnight on Tuesday 6th April 2021.
If a pupil or staff member tests positive for Covid-19, having developed symptoms within 48 hours of being in school, you MUST contact the school by emailing me on whowlett.berkeleyprimary@northlincs.gov.uk.
We will then assist in identifying close contacts and advising self-isolation, as the individual may have been infectious whilst in school. I will check my email regularly each day and will contact anyone regarding a positive Covid-19 test (no other matters). Please do not call school or email the admin address as this will not be monitored during the holiday.
After 6th April no-one will have had contact with anyone from school. Where a pupil or staff member tests positive for Covid-19, having developed symptoms more than 48 hours since being in school, the school should not be contacted. Parents and carers should follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace.
If you have any queries regarding this please do not hesitate to contact me.
Best wishes

Advice for all parents - Positive Covid-19 case in Year 6 Holly
Dear Parent and Carers,
We have been advised by Public Health England that there has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 within Berkeley Primary School in Year 6 Holly. The small number of children who have been in close contact with the individual who has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) have received an email informing them they must self-isolate.
We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England. This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child. Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness.
The school remains open and your child should continue to attend as normal if they remain well.
What to do if your child develops symptoms of COVID 19
If your child develops symptoms of COVID-19, they must not come to school and should remain at home for at least 10 days from the date when their symptoms appeared. Anyone with symptoms will be eligible for a PCR test (the normally available test type) and this can be arranged via https://www.nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test or by calling 119.
All other household members who remain well, must stay at home and not leave the house for 10 days. This includes anyone in your ‘Support Bubble’.
Further information is available at: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-households-with-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection
The household isolation period includes the day the first person in your household’s symptoms started (or the day their test was taken if they did not have symptoms) and the next 10 full days. This means that if, for example, your 10 day isolation period starts on the 15th of the month, your isolation period ends at 23:59 hrs on the 25th and you can return to your normal routine.
Household members should not go to work, school or public areas and exercise should be taken within the home. If you require help with buying groceries, other shopping or picking up medication, or walking a dog, you should ask friends or family. Alternatively, you can order your shopping online and medication by phone or online. Household members staying at home for 10 days will greatly reduce the overall amount of infection the household could pass on to others in the community.
If you are able, move any vulnerable individuals (such as the elderly and those with underlying health conditions) out of your home, to stay with friends or family for the duration of the home isolation period.

Please take a look at the letter below sent to us from the NHS Foundation Trust regarding our school participating in the flu vaccinations. We are very proud to be a super flu fighting school!
Congratulations! You have achieved a PLATINUM award.
This is presented in recognition of your outstanding achievement. By participating in the flu vaccination programme 2020/2021 you protected your student’s health and wellbeing.
I would like to thank you and your colleagues for their support in particular your flexible approach and willingness to support the Immunisation Team during these very challenging times. Like schools, COVID 19 had a significant impact on how we delivered our service but by working effectively together we achieved our goals. It was extremely important all those eligible were protected from seasonal Flu to prevent further pressures on the NHS. Through your efforts you assisted us to vaccinate 70% of eligible children across the North Lincs area.
Dear Parents and Carers,
Information from the Government and NHS:
Asymptomatic testing information for parents and adults in households with children at school or college
NHS Test and Trace announced earlier this week, that all adults in households with school and college age children without symptoms can now access regular rapid coronavirus (COVID-19) testing. Undertaking regular, rapid coronavirus (COVID-19) testing helps reduce transmission of the virus. Parents and other adults in households with children at school or college, who do not have symptoms, can now access regular, rapid coronavirus (COVID-19) testing. This includes childcare and support bubbles.
Children of primary school age (and below) without symptoms are not being asked to take a test.
Tests are fast, easy and completely free. There are different ways for a household, childcare or support bubble to collect their test to take at home, twice-weekly:
If you have any queries about the tests, and you live in England, please call 119 (free from mobiles and landlines). Lines are open every day from 7am to 11pm.
Testing is voluntary, but strongly recommended to all who are eligible. Alongside the vaccine, washing hands, wearing face coverings, and maintaining social distancing, rapid testing plays a vital role in reducing transmission rates. Getting into the habit of regular testing as part of our everyday lives will help us all to play our part and do what we can to protect each other.
Best wishes
