Class Dojo

We award Class Dojo points to children for various good behaviours. The children each have their own virtual Dojo monster which they can personalise.

Each time the children reach a milestone of 250 points, they will be awarded a certificate. Parents are able to sign up to the Class Dojo app, using the password that will be sent home. I regularly update the site with information and photos. Please feel free to like and comment on the posts.

P.E.

We have two P.E. sessions each week on Monday (Indoor) and Friday (Outdoor). 

On our P.E. days, please ensure that your child is wearing their P.E. kit (white t-shirt, shorts, leggings, tracksuit bottoms, trainers, etc) and, if your child wears earrings, please remove these before school. Sports earrings can be worn for our P.E. lessons.

Homework

In addition to their daily Book Club task, spellings are also sent home each week. These consist of 12 spellings (6 'Core' and 6 'Challenge' words). Children can practise these with an adult or can work on them independently using the Z-type code shown on each week’s spelling list. Also, regular practice of Times Tables is a vital part of the children’s homework. Little and often is the key to success. These can be practised using the Times Tables Rockstars website, with the log in details that have already been sent home. Children in Years 5 and 6 can also practise other Maths skills using the Prodigy website. If you experience accessing any of these websites. please do not hesitate to contact me.

Our Year 5 Curriculum

In the Autumn term, we are learning about the Viking and Anglo-Saxon Struggle for control of Britain in History and Forces in Science. More details are available from the link on the Year 5 Home Page.
