Penathlon (10 pin bowling) - Inclusive 4.12.23 & 17.1.24

At Berkeley we have entered a number of inclusive competitions this year and this is the first time we have entered the Inclusive 10-pin Bowling. We took a team to Ashby bowl to compete against other schools in North Lincolnshire, with some of our team having never been bowling before, this was a completely new experience. The competition was intense and fierce and after all the bowling was completed, it was revealed that Berkeley came joint 2nd which meant we progressed to the regional finals in Hull at Hollywood Bowl.

Having qualified for the regional inclusive finals of the Primary Penathlon (10 pin bowling), our children travelled to Hull to the Hollywood Bowl to compete against schools from Hull, East Riding and N.E Lincolnshire. The children played fantastically and had a great attitude to the bowling that was happening all around them cheering when other schools were doing well. Out of the 12 teams at the competition, Berkeley did amazing, just missing out on the medals coming 4th overall.

Pupil Voice:

We went to Hollywood Bowl to take part in the Penathlon Challenge. We tried our best at bowling but unfortunately we did not win. We went against a lot of schools. We had fun and it was great to take part in something different. We came 5th place and got more than 500 points.

We would have loved it if we won but winning isn't everything. We had a great day and i would definitely recommend it to my friends.
