End of Key Stage Testing

Please see the leaflet below from the Department for Education which explains the end of Key Stage 2 statutory assessment testing.

Multiplication Check in Year 4

Children who are in Year 4 will be taking the national multiplication tables check.  The tests will provide information about how your child is progressing.  The purpose of the check is to determine whether children can recall their times table fluently, which is essential for future success in mathematics.  They will be tested up to and including 12 x 12 multiplication facts.

Please see the leaflets below to find out more.

Phonics Screening Check in Year 1 and Year 2

There has been a huge shift in the past few year in how we teach reading in UK schools. This is having a big impact and helping many children learn to read and spell. Phonics is recommended as the first strategy that children should be taught in helping them learn to read. It runs alongside other teaching methods such as Guided Reading and Shared Reading to help children develop all the other vital reading skills and hopefully give them a real love of reading.

Please see the leaflets below to find out more.

Reception Baseline Assessment

The teachers will complete the Government Reception Baseline Assessment within 6 weeks of your child starting reception.  Please see the leaflet below for more information.
