To mark the start of Anti-bullying week, on Tuesday 11th November we are asking children and adults to come to school wearing odd socks. This year’s theme is Power For Good a theme that empowered us to do something positive to counter the harm and hurt that bullying causes.
Every year, everyone is encouraged to wear odd socks as it is a great way to celebrate what makes us all unique in Anti-Bullying Week! There will be an assembly to introduce the theme, explain what it is and what we can do to combat bullying. By equipping students with the skills to recognise power dynamics and encourage respect for each other's rights, we can foster an environment where everyone feels that they belong, are safe and valued.
Children will also be engaging in some fun activities to get them talking and thinking about bullying scenarios and encourage them to stand up and speak out against bullying.
