Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Dear Parents and Carers,
Most of you will be aware that tonight the Prime Minister has announced a new lockdown for England. This includes closing schools for children except those that are vulnerable and children of key workers.
Our school will be closed for all pupils tomorrow whilst we make our arrangements and receive the Government guidance (Tuesday 5th January 2021). We will be ready and able to open on Wednesday 6th January 2021 ready to take in key worker and vulnerable children.
Tomorrow we will be sending out a form for you to apply for key worker places if you are eligible. We will contact vulnerable families tomorrow to offer places. Please do not email or phone school to apply for a place as it will need to be done this way to ensure no applications get lost. We will work as swiftly as we can to ensure good communication over the next few days.
We are deeply disappointed that we shall not be seeing most of you for a while. Look after yourselves, stay safe and thank you for your continued support.

The children have really enjoyed all of our Christmas Celebrations this year. The Christmas dinner was delicious like always and everyone looked like they were having great fun at their class parties.
Yesterday, the whole school watched the online pantomime-Cinderella! The children were very excited about this and by the sounds coming from the classrooms, they really enjoyed it! It was lovely to hear everyone joining in with this interactive Panto.
Father Christmas and the mischievous Angel also visited the classrooms to deliver presents to all the children. Please take a look at the pictures below of the Panto, Father Christmas and also Mr Fell looking very festive!
Dear Parents and Carers,
On behalf of all the school staff and Governors, I would like to wish all our families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We break up at the end of the day this Thursday 17th December 2020. The children will return to school on Tuesday 5th January 2021.
I would like to thank you for your support and patience this term. It has certainly been a strange one. Like you, I am hoping that the news of the roll out of the vaccine will bring us more normality in the new year. You have following the rules and helped us to keep everyone safe. We’ll keep on with the mask wearing and routines for now, but hope we will be able to make some changes to ease these in the coming months and get back to some sort of normality.
I know a number of families and children have had to isolate or have had Covid-19, but we have been fortunate that there has been no inter-school transmission. It seems at the moment that the measures we are taking in school is giving some protection.
The Government have made some changes in primary schools to testing in this academic year. Year 2 children will be given teacher assessment levels based on the work they are doing, they will not take any tests. The Year 4 multiplication tables check has been cancelled this year. The Year 6 spelling, punctuation and grammar (SAT) test has also been cancelled and they will not get a science teacher assessment. The Year 6 will still be doing the mathematics and reading (SAT) tests and will be given teacher assessments in reading, writing and mathematics.
I am so proud of how our children and staff have coped in the new situation, with changing routines and rules. Once again they have shown their resilience and dedication to the school. Because the children have all been so good I’ve heard that Father Christmas is planning to visit school this week, socially distancing of course. Let’s hope he makes it in to Tier 3.
I hope you all have a lovely break and have chance to enjoy family time.
Best wishes

The Government has published a Winter Plan which includes a new three tier framework to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
It was announced that our local area will move into Tier 3 as of 2nd December. The Government intends to review the tiering allocations every 14 days.
Please take a look at the overview below of the restrictions that are currently in place for our area.
Y1 Oak and Nursery will isolate up to and including the 16.11.20, returning to school on Tuesday 17.11.20.
Y2 Oak and Y3 Beech will isolate up to and including the 18.11.20, returning to school on Thursday 19.11.20.
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have been advised by Public Health England that there has been 3 confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the school.
We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England. This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child. Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness.
The children who have been in close contact with the individuals who have tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) have received a letter informing them that their child must stay at home for 14 days from onset of the symptoms. Nursery, Year 1 Oak, Year 2 Oak and Year 3 Beech are the classes that are self-isolating.
The school remains open and your child should continue to attend as normal if they remain well.
What to do if your child develops symptoms of COVID 19
If your child develops symptoms of COVID-19, they must not come to school and should remain at home for at least 10 days from the date when their symptoms appeared. Anyone with symptoms will be eligible for testing and this can be arranged via https://www.nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test or by calling 119. All other household members who remain well, must stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days. This includes anyone in your ‘Support Bubble’.
Further information is available at: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-households-with-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection The 14-day period starts from the day when the first person in the house became ill. Household members should not go to work, school or public areas and exercise should be taken within the home. If you require help with buying groceries, other shopping or picking up medication, or walking a dog, you should ask friends or family. Alternatively, you can order your shopping online and medication by phone or online. Household members staying at home for 14 days will greatly reduce the overall amount of infection the household could pass on to others in the community
If you are able, move any vulnerable individuals (such as the elderly and those with underlying health conditions) out of your home, to stay with friends or family for the duration of the home isolation period.

Dear Parents and Carers,
As you are all aware cases of coronavirus are rising in North Lincolnshire. We are doing everything we can to limit the risk here at school and ensure we can stay open to all children. We really want to be able to keep educating our children and firmly believe that school is the best place for children to be.
Parents and carers MUST play their part in this. A few reminders:
- all parents MUST wear a mask at all times on school premises - this means wearing it properly over your mouth and nose.
- only ONE adult should be dropping children off (we are seeing two parents / grandparents) - this limits the amount of people on the school site
- please ensure your child does not come to school too early (we know some have to come because of siblings, but others that are only children are coming early and waiting around blocking pathways).
- please follow the one way systems, queue and wait in orderly manor and at least 2 metres away from others
- it is ESSENTIAL that if someone in the household has symptoms or is confirmed that they have coronavirus, that the household all isolates and children DO NOT come to school. You must ring us and let us know.
The NHS say:
If you have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), get a test as soon as possible. Stay at home until you get the result.
Main symptoms
The main symptoms of coronavirus are:
Most people with coronavirus have at least 1 of these symptoms.
What to do if you have symptoms
If you have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus:
Anyone in your support bubble should also stay at home if you have been in close contact with them since your symptoms started or during the 48 hours before they started.
I urge everyone to follow this guidance to keep us all safe.

Dear Parents and Carers,
The Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, Councillor Rob Waltham MBE, has taken the decision to support a Free School Meal Scheme for eligible children (benefit related free school meals not universal free school meals for infants) during the October half term holiday. Due to the timing of the decision, the benefit will be retrospective.
We have been informed that some time this week the school will receive a £15 voucher with an accompanying letter for each eligible child. We have not been told where the vouchers are for. Once we have received these we will be sending them home with your child. We will text to say which day they are being sent home.
If you have any queries please phone the Customer Contact Centre on 01724 297000.
Best wishes

Please take a look at the poster below regarding some fun activities that are taking place for under fives at the 20-21 Visual Art Centre.
Contact information is on the poster below.
Christmas Lunch is a lovely opportunity for the children and school staff to celebrate Christmas. This year children will receive their Christmas Lunch in a Hot Grab Bag. This will be eaten in the classroom the same as the current arrangements that are in place. We will still ensure this is a special event for the children; they can also come to school wearing their Christmas Jumpers on this day.
This will be served on:
Tuesday 8th December for Nursery children
Wednesday 9th December for children in Reception to Year 6
If your child does not want this, they will need to bring a packed lunch on this day as there will be no other options.
The cost of the meal is £2.30; this will be paid for by the usual Parent Pay System. Please ensure your child has enough funds in their account on the day of Christmas Lunch.
Christmas Lunch Menu: Roast turkey baguette, sausage, stuffing balls, roast potatoes, veg pot and Christmas tree ice-cream. Vegetarian Option is the same but with a Veg sausage baguette.
I know this may seem very early to be arranging Christmas events but our cooks have requested numbers so an accurate number of lunches can be ordered and prepared.
Please click on the form below and complete by Monday 19th October. After this date no other numbers will be added as the food will be ordered.
Please complete one form for each child.
Many thanks
