  • Child Car Seats- Staying Safe

    Tue 18 Sep 2018

Following a North Lincs Staying Safe Conference, we have been sent the below poster regarding child car seats.

The poster below can be printed out and fixed to a wall so that the red 135cm line is actually placed at that height.

Your child can then see where they measure and whether they need to use a child seat by law.

    Thankyou

  • No Open Water Swimming

Thu 19 Jul 2018 Anna Cvijetic

We have received the information below from North Lincolnshire Council today and felt it important to pass on to our carers and to inform our children:

The Environment Agency has confirmed that a suspected blue green algae outbreak at Ashby Ville is toxic. If pupils are planning to visit the nature reserve in Scunthorpe over the summer, they must not go in or near the water, or let their dogs go in the water.

Visitors to Ashby Ville should never swim in the lake, as many hidden hazards lay below the surface of the water, and the temperature can suddenly drop, putting any swimmer in difficulty. The toxic blue green algae outbreak is another reason why people should be vigilant and stay clear of the water.

Despite warning signs and council officers on site speaking to visitors every day, we have still had people swimming in the pond at Ashby Ville. It is important that people do not go in the water.

  • Summer Fayre - raised a massive £2366.54

Tue 17 Jul 2018 Anna Cvijetic

The summer fayre, held on 27th June, raised a massive £2366.54.  Many thanks to all friends and family of Berkeley Primary School for coming along and making this a huge success.

The money raised will be used to subsidise school trips next year.

Thankfully the sun shone on us this year.  It was a wonderful atmosphere and there were some great stalls and refreshments available.  Strawberries and cream sold out within minutes, the children enjoyed having a go at the challenging games and the highlight was the opportunity to drench Mr Cowell.

The children worked really hard getting the ideas together for their stall.  The winning class, making a huge profit of £188.50 was 2 Beech.  In September they will get the opportunity to spend this money on something for their new Year 3 classes.
